The 3 primary features of the Nelliedog Hi-Vis Vest are the vest body, the reflective tape, and the fastening clips. Each one of these features makes the Nelliedog Vest unique in the following ways:

The vest body is made of a bright orange polyester material that is lightweight, breathable, washable, durable and most importantly, visible in daylight or when there is poor light quality. The orange material of the vest conforms to the AS/NZS 1906.4 1997 retroreflective materials standard. Specifically, the vest material is made to pass the following aspects of this standard:

• bright irrespective of being wet or dry
• colour-fastness to light
• colour-fastness to washing
• colour-fastness to perspiration

The 2 stripes of reflective tape ensure visibility at night or in conditions of very low light. The reflective tape is made by 3M and is called Scotchlite 8910 Silver Reflective Fabric. It is designed to reflect any light source - street lights, car lights, torch light, and moon light. As with the vest body material, the reflective tape also conforms to the AS/NZS 1906.4 1997 retroreflective materials standard. Specifically, the tape passes the following aspects of this standard:

• the tapes exposure to UV light
• colour-fastness to light
• colour-fastness to washing
• resistance to flexing and cold cracking

The fastening clips are made from a robust hardened plastic. The clips make the vest easy and quick to fasten and most importantly ensure that the vest stays fastened. The advantage of using these clips over other methods of fastening, like Velcro, is that they will not get clogged with dirt, plant matter or dog hair. The Nelliedog Vest has two fastening clips attached to the vest with strong webbing. One clip does up over the chest of the dog and the other under the belly of the dog. Extra webbing also means that the vest is adjustable to suit the different shapes and sizes of dogs.

We have no hesitation in guaranteeing the quality of this product and will replace any vest that is defective due to faulty components or workmanship. While the vest has shown itself to be tough, it is not indestructible. We do not guarantee against general wear, or damage to components. For example, if a dog chews the fastening clips.
